3d macro3DMacro is the innovative tool for the analysis and estimation of seismic vulnerability of buildings in ordinary masonry, mixed structure masonry-reinforced concrete and confined masonry.

3DMacro allows you to easily model new and existin buildings, of any geometry and complexity. It offers you a wide library of masonry, materials and loads according to Eurocodes and  Italian Rules.
Furthermore, 3DMacro can be effectively used for the evaluation of the seismic vulnerability of framed structures in the presence of reinforced concrete septa, considering the contribution of the infills on the global seismic response.

The revolution of the macro element

3DMacro  allows you to model the masonry walls using a plan macro-element, developed in the university. This element simulates the major failure mechanisms in the plane of the wall panels and allows you to model the interaction between masonry and reinforced concrete frames.
3DMacro is the right compromise between the complexity of the methods of nonlinear finite element modeling, accurate but computationally expensive and difficult to interpret, and the over-approximation of the simplified approaches (POR method, frame models, etc.).
With the new sparse solver analyzes nonlinear become simple, fast and reliable!


THEORIC MODEL - THE MACRO-ELEMENT

The model designed for the simulation of the in plane behavior of the walls, is represented by an equivalent mechanical model in which a portion of masonry is schematized by means of an articulated quadrilateral. The vertices are connected by nonlinear diagonal springs while the rigid sides interact with the sides of the other macro-elements by means of discrete interfaces with limited tensile strength.

THEORIC MODEL - Failure mechanisms

The modeling strategy is able to simulate the typical masonry collapse mechanisms. In particular, with reference to the collapse mechanisms in the plane, it is able to capture the rupture mechanisms with a diagonal cut, by overturning and by sliding.

You can also define floors (rigid or deformable) for the assignment of the static and seismic loads.

 PLAN BUILDER

The input of the model of the nuilding is done by means of plan editors, the plan builder and the wall builder, in a simple, intuitive and effective way.
During the construction of the model you can control the geometrical and mechanical properties through photo-realistic three-dimensional visualization.
Each plan of the building is built by a Plan Editor, introducing the load-bearing masonry walls using the mouse or typing numeric coordinates. Alternatively, you can import a reference plan file in DXF format, compatible with most popular CAD softwares.

WALL BUILDER

The walls, defined in the Plan Builder can then be edited in the Wall Builder, in order to consider the presence of openings, holes, beams, regions of masonry, lintels, arches, etc ..., in any position and orientation.

3D MODEL

The main window view shows the three-dimensional model.
During the input phase the properties of the elements are showed; the correctness of the geometry input can be chacjed and the observation of the computational model can be done.
During the output phase the deformed shape of the structure with the corresponding indicators of damage will be showed.

AUTOMATIC DEFINITION OF THE SEISMIC ACTIONS

3DMacro provides automatic calculation of the reference acceleration expected in the construction site as well as automatic identification of the limit states to be considered in the checks depending on the type of structure and code used. However, you can customize the limit states modifying the corresponding criteria.
3DMacro supports Italian codes, NTC2018,  and Circolare n.7/2019, OPCM 3431, NTC 2005 and NTC 2008, and the Eurocodes.

LIBRARY OF MATERIALS

The settings of the geometrical and mechanical characteristics of the elements is immediate and complete. It`s possible to define new and existing materials. The mechanical properties of the materials may be defined according to the tables suggested by the codes, or be widely customized. The photo-realistic material textures allows to the immediate detection of the typologies in the three-dimensional geometric model.

 

 VERIFICATION OF KINEMATICS OUT PLAN MODULE

The module 3DM FP allows the checks of the overturning mechanisms of masonry walls according to the codes. The checks may be carried out according to both linear kinematic analysis approach, and through the non-linear kinematic approach. As part of the out of plane checks the effecting quality of the connections of floors and the contribution of rods can be considered.

It is not necessary to assume a priori the failure mechanisms, and it is not necessary to model again the wall to be checked because the presence of openings, dead loads and loads due to the floors are automatically evaluated by the software according to the three-dimensional model.

3DMacro suddivide ogni parete in fasce murarie ossia in porzioni di parete continua, dalle fondazioni sino alla quota di sommità. Per ogni fascia muraria analizza tutti i possibili cinematismi compatibili con i vincoli. Per ciascun cinematismo valuta il moltiplicatore di collasso alfa,0, e lo spostamento critico dk,0 assumendo come punto di controllo il baricentro delle masse mobilitate.

VERIFICATION FORM

The 3DM FP module allows to check the overturning limit states of all the masonry walls of the building and shows a concise safety coefficient.

DETAILS

The checks are carried out using limit analysis that automatically assesses the main plane mechanisms thus identifying the most dangerous kinematic side which corresponds to the lowest safety coefficient.

Everything is done according to the code involving the two types of approaches for the limit states checks for the Significant Damage Limit Sate (SD) and Damage Limitation (DL). Morover the static stress checks according to chapter 4.5.6.2 (NTC08) can be performed.

The results summary window have been developed in order to show all the useful informations in a clear and immediate manner, both for the linear kinematic analysis and for the nonlinear kinematic analysis

GRIPPING OF THE FLOOR TO THE WALL

You can choose the type of clamping between the floors and the walls, choosing between rigid gripping, or with friction, or negligible.


 

MODELLO DI CALCOLO

L`accoppiamento tra il macro-elemento piano ed i sistemi intelaiati, modellati con elementi asta e pilastro non lineari a plasticità concentrata, interagenti tra loro mediante interfacce non-lineari a flessione e scorrimento, consente di modellare efficacemente strutture miste muratura-calcestruzzo armato o acciaio, i sistemi di telai temponati.

Il modello è in grado di riprodurre i principali meccanismi di danno e collasso che possono coinvolgere la muratura, il telaio, e/o entrambi.


 ELEMENTI ASTA 3D E DOMINI PMM

Per gli elementi asta (travi e pilastri) in c.a., il software valuta i tagli resistenti ed i momenti resistenti, nonché i relativi legami momento-curvatura in funzione dello sforzo normale di calcolo, consentendo la definizione delle cerniere plastiche a comportamento spaziale (tipo PMM) adatte a modellare i pilastri, nonché la valutazione della formazione delle cerniere plastiche al progredire della sollecitazione di calcolo.

 SETTI IN C.A. NON LINEARE

The Mixed structures 3DMacro`s module is able to model in a simple and effective way any type of RC shear walls, also interacting with the rest of the structure.


VERIFICA DEI MECCANISMI FRAGILI

Il software 3DMacro modella gli elementi asta (quali travi e pilastri) in c.a. considerando il comportamento non lineare assiale e flessionale. Per tale motivo,  le analisi non lineari eseguite non richiedono, a posteriori, la riverifica a flessione delle aste.

E` inoltre possibile modellare esplicitamente le rotture fragili a taglio. Seguendo tale approccio, ad ogni passo dell`analisi, il software esegue le verifiche a taglio in tutte le sezioni; nel caso in cui il taglio sollecitante supera il taglio resistente, si procede a ridistribuire, al resto della struttura, le sollecitazioni di taglio e flessione sopportate dell`elemento in modo da scaricare completamente la sezione interessata dalla rottura.

Viceversa è possibile ignorare, durante le analisi, le rotture a taglio. In tal caso è necessario eseguire le verifiche a taglio a posteriori.

Questa funzionalità è disponibile solo se di è attivato il modulo per strutture miste (3DM SMCA).

NONLINEAR BEHAVIOR OF BEAMS

The reinforced concrete elements are represented as beam elements with discrete plasticity and PMM interaction. The computational model takes into account in the analysis the flexural interaction between the beams and masonry along the effective contact length.

REINFORCEMENT CUSTOMIZATION

The new and advanced options for the input and management of steel reinforcement allows to accurately model the different sections of the RC beams, allowing also the introduction of stirrups with different distance.

E` possibile personalizzare le armature (sia longitudinali che trasversali) delle aste in c.a., sia dall`ambiente di verifica a taglio delle aste, che dalla finestra di definizione delle sezioni per gli elementi asta.

FRAME ELEMENTS 3D (BEAMS AND COLUMNS) INTERACTING

Il modulo 3DM SMCA (Strutture miste) consente di modellare elementi asta 3D (travi e pilastri).

La trave 3D è un elemento asta che ha un comportamento tridimensionale, interagente con la muratura, e la cui plasticità è concentrata in cerniere che non tengono conto dell`influenza dello sforzo normale sul momento plastico. E` adatta a modellare travi che agiscono anche fuori dal piano della parete a cui appartengono.

Il pilastro 3D è un`asta che ha un comportamento tridimensionale, interagente con la muratura, e la cui plasticità è concentrata in cerniere (tipo PMM), che tengono conto dell`interazione tra lo sforzo normale e i momenti flettenti nei due piani principali. E` adatta a modellare pilastri, in quanto dispone di gradi di libertà traslazionali e rotazionali. In tal caso il valore del momento di resistenza è funzione dello sforzo normale agente sulla sezione, valutato attraverso un analisi per carichi verticali. Per ciascuna cerniera plastica (identificata con una sezione caratteristica) viene  determinato un dominio di resistenza tridimensionale caratteristico della sezione.

 

GEOTECHNICAL CALCULATION (BEARING CAPACITY OF THE SOIL, FAILURE BY SLIDING AND CHECK OF SETTLEMENTS) - 3DM GEO

DEFINITION OF SOIL AND METHODS OF ANALYSIS

By using the 3DM GEO module, it is possible to perform geotechnical limit states checks (SLU - SLE), according to the code requirements. The check module allows maximum control over many variables of geotechnical problems. This way it is possible to choose the type of approach of verification, the definition of the soil, if it is in drained or undrained conditions, and on the constitutive laws.

DEFINITION OF STRATIGRAPHY

It is possible to define the stratigraphies present at the bottom of each foundation.

CALCULATION OF SOIL STRESS

The applied load and the stress distribution below each foundation are showed, through color map .

 GEOTECHNICAL VERIFICATIONS

The geotechnical checks for each load combination according to the considered limit states (SLU and SLE) can be performed according to the requirements of the adopted code are easy to be interpreted.

In the window of the details verification shall be shown in summary form, the results of geotechnical verifications and the safety factor.

3DMacro permette di modellare i rinforzi (e/o gli ammaloramenti) presenti nel paramento murario. E` possibile gestire una ampia casistica di rinforzi: Sistemi FibreNet, con nastri (o tessuti) in FRP, rinforzi di tipo CAM, muratura armata e rinforzi di tipo standard secondo le direttive delle Nuove Norme Tecniche per le Costruzioni 2018 e successiva Circolare esplicativa.

3DMacro includes the use of fiber-reinforced composite materials (FRP - reinforced with unidirectional fibers woven); CAM (Method of stitching Active); Calastrellature (cladding made of angular longitudinal reverse stiffening brackets).

Each type of intervention provides a benefit in terms of bending behavior (last moment and curvature), shear strength and confinement (increase in basic material characteristics).

Tutti i prezzi comprendono 12 mesi (dalla sottoscrizione del contratto) di manutenzione relativa ad adeguamenti legislativi, assistenza tecnica (telefonica e on-line), aggiornamenti del software durante il periodo di contratto. Il costo del canone annuale di manutenzione (al termine del primo anno dall'acquisto) è pari al 15% del valore di listino del software, con un valore massimo di € 600,00 anche per chi possiede entrambi in software in qualunque configurazione.

Il software 3DMacro, ha un sistema di protezione informatica di tipo Software e viene rilasciato con un numero di installazioni pari a 2. Delle 2 installazioni solo 1 sarà abilitata alla stampa. Le installazioni sono in qualsiasi momento disattivabili da una postazione e riattivabili in un’altra attraverso un tool informatico.
